A Maltese cross constructed of silvered bronze; the obverse with a circular central medallion depicting the crowned royal cipher of Grand Duke Adolph Friedrich VI within a laurel wreath that is tied together at the base via a ribbon; the reverse with a circular central medallion inscribed TAPFER UND TREU (German BRAVE AND LOYAL), also within a wreath as the obverse; on a double loop for
